Workshops

Emergency Response Workshops

To better prepare for disasters and emergencies, we hold emergency response workshops aimed at educating people on how to manage and stay organized. These workshops help to ensure that volunteers, staff and the community are able to adhere to proper procedures during stressful and frightening situations.

Firefighter preparation

Preparation Is Everything

Our emergency response workshops are available to both emergency response personnel and volunteers. These programs are invaluable in ensuring that everyone understands the different procedures, teams, organizations and risks they will be facing during an emergency. This preparation and education reinforces the systems in place so that there is no guesswork or confusion during high-stress moments—ensuring that the communities and affected individuals are taken care of expediently and effectively.

Firefighter workshops

 Firefighter Workshops

These workshops allow firefighters to refamiliarize themselves with practices, procedures, their team and the environments they will be operating in. A lot of firefighters in the Saskatchewan First Nations Emergency Management network are volunteers, and being able to provide regular workshops for them is essential in ensuring that they are able to maintain proper safety procedures and stay aware of NFPA firefighting practices. These workshops occur in the classroom and active exercise that have the participants engaging with the equipment, environments and landscape they will be interacting with during fire emergencies.

Emergency Management Conferences

Saskatchewan First Nations Emergency Management supports regular Emergency Management Conferences that bring together the various organizations in our province to discuss current programs, initiatives and practices in emergency management. These conferences are of tremendous value to these organizations and our own as it helps to ensure we are always improving our services and training—ensuring that our ability to serve our communities is always meeting national standards.
