Working to educate communities in the mitigation, preparedness and recovery of emergency scenarios that could impact their homes. One of our best tools to combat disasters is awareness and safety training against at-risk situations.

Emergency response training

Our Emergency Response Training Services

We provide a variety of services, programs and workshops aimed at improving the awareness and mitigation of emergency scenarios. These programs are available to all of the First Nations communities in Saskatchewan, and we are proud to say that we have been able to reach hundreds of families through these programs.


Our Emergency Response Training Services:

Incident Command System 100

A standardized on-site management system that enables effective and efficient incident management by integrating a combination of facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures, and communications through an orderly division of labour under a single organizational structure.

Basic Emergency Management

Enables emergency management personnel to implement processes for the mitigation, preparation, response and recovery from emergencies and disasters. This course is available for everyone from government officials to emergency responders to volunteers.

Emergency Operation Centre (EOC)

Teaches participants why and when an EOC may be required, the various roles an EOC may play in response to emergencies, where an EOC is located and how it is equipped.

 

Reception Centre Roles and Responsibilities

An overview of how a reception center operates with an emphasis on the importance of having volunteers in the communities trained through the Red Cross before a disaster happens.

Emergency Social Services

Takes participants through the roles and responsibilities required to provide basic services essential for the immediate and continuing well-being of individuals affected by a disaster.

Elected Official Roles and Responsibilities

Provides a brief overview of emergency management, as well as leadership's role in mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery; the importance of a Public Warning system; use of Saskalert; and an in-depth understanding of active community emergency training programs.

 Our Community Emergency Training Services:

72 Hour Personal Emergency Preparedness

Prepares students to be self-sufficient for 72 hours in the event of a disaster. It will be a guide to help students make a plan for at home and to leave the community if necessary.

Emergency Public Information

Teach students the importance of timely, accurate, concise facts for public safety to ease fears and aid response.

Mobile Radio Orientation

Educates participants on how to use radio communication during an emergency event. Our office can supply radios to communities to have better communication between outside departments during an event.

 

First Nation Communication Training

Participants will leave with templates and the confidence to know how to share pertinent information with band members before, during and after a crisis.

Search & Rescue Recruitment and Training

Recruit First Nation Volunteers from all areas of First Nations Lands in Saskatchewan to become Basic Searchers to assist in an emergency event.
